Mettenschicht in the Seiffen ore mine ‘Rich hope’

This candle arch is the 4th limited edition of our midnight layer arches and is therefore part of our factory’s original range. The theme of the 1st and 2nd limited editions was the Seiffen “Deep Holy Trinity Tunnel” from the Agricola era and the “Blessing of God” ore vein. The 3rd and current version shows the last layer of the year, the midnight layer, in the Seiffen “Rich Hope” ore mine. The miners pray and give thanks for the wealth of tin and hope for further finds. In the midst of glowing frog lamps, this arch radiates contemplation. Above ground, the Christmassy and romantic wintery Seiffen with miners playing music is a successful composition between past and present. It is precisely this belief in a helping God and the hope for a better future that connects the miners with the biblical story. In order to incorporate this aspect of the time into our historical depictions, we took up the motif of the birth of Christ. In 2012, a mechanically movable candle arch was created, which wonderfully presents the scene of the birth of the baby Jesus in detailed and filigree work.
